We are a seeking a barista / catering assistant, who has experience and skills in hospitality, delivering exceptional customer service, and able to connect and build relationships with members, customers and people within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Nurture and build friendly relationships with members of MUC & customers
- Making barista quality coffee
- Food preparation and service
- Communicate and consult with Café Manager on operating needs, customer feedback and supplies
- Serving at counter and delivering orders to tables
- Work alongside a diverse team
- Greet and engage customers as they enter cafe
- Answer customer enquiries and take orders
- Comply with health and safety requirements
- Comply with hygiene requirements
- Cleaning duties
- Open / Closing operations and operating point of sale
- Oversee cafe operations in absence of manager
- Help train staff & volunteers
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 years work experience as a barista
- Minimum 1 years work experience in hospitality environment
- Additional certification (e.g Barista Certificate and/or hospitality) is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Food service experience
- Flexible to work within and outside operating hours (including weekends and public holidays
- Attitude to learn and be part of a team
